--- Virtual Meetings & Technology Integration
• DroneSense - Participated in a virtual meeting with DroneSense to initiate account setup for the county. The platform will support aerial operations and data management for emergency response, damage assessment and situational awareness.
• PIX4D - Engaged in a virtual meeting with PIX4D to explore mapping capabilities related to first response and disaster scene mapping, damage assessment post-incident, crime scene and accident reconstruction and county infrastructure mapping and planning. The integration of PIX4D into our toolkit will significantly enhance our mapping and data analysis capabilities during emergencies and planning operations.
• D4H Emergency Management Software - Held an introductory session with D4H to evaluate its capabilities in incident management, personnel tracking and response coordination. This tool will improve real-time collaboration and documentation across departments.
--- 2024 Spring Tornado Recovery Update • State Reimbursement Status - Okmulgee County’s reimbursement submission is currently under review by the State Comptroller’s Office. Funds are anticipated to be released by the end of April.
• Category Z - Administrative Reimbursement - Final documentation and submission are scheduled to be completed by the end of April.
• Closeout Timelines - The final closeout for the City of Morris is expected by the end of May 2025. The closeout process for Okmulgee County will commence and be completed within one month following the completion of the 300 RD project.
--- Emergency Management Day at the State Capitol - Oklahoma City Spent the day at the State Capitol for Emergency Management Day. Received briefings from the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management. Networked and discussed regional concerns with representatives. Okmulgee County representatives in attendance were Commissioner Michael Wallace, two active EM volunteers and Director Jeffrey Moore.
--- Equipment & Facility Improvements • E-Waste Disposal - Disposed of seven non-functioning computer towers and various outdated electronic devices through the county’s electronic pickup program.
• Facility Organization - Reorganized the Emergency Management storage room and office to maximize space efficiency. Created an additional office space to be utilized by volunteers or partner agencies during trainings or emergency activations.
--- Interagency Coordination
• Participated in a collaborative meeting with the OCCJA, Okmulgee Fire Department, Morris Fire Department and Okmulgee County Emergency Medical Service. The discussion focused on dispatch communication challenges and developing actionable solutions to improve response coordination and inter-agency support.
--- No Requests or Response
• For the first week in seven weeks, no ongoing emergencies or requests for response occurred. This allowed for catching up on paperwork and meetings for staff.
