The Henryetta Lions Club held its most recent meetings on April 3 and 10 at The Shack 2.0, where members gathered to finalize plans for upcoming community events, share club updates and begin preparing for future leadership transitions.

--- April 10 Meeting Highlights
A motion was passed to amend the April 3 minutes to correct the date, with Lions Robert Fowler and Keith Green leading the effort. The Sunshine Report featured both celebration and concern Lion Robert Fowler’s church recently raised significant funds for its ministry, and Lion Nita Robertson shared that her grandson is recovering following a serious automobile accident.
Club members also reflected on “Erase Self-Negativity Day,” shared by the Tail Twister as part of a lighthearted discussion on national observances.
--- Lions Easter Egg Hunt set for April 19
The club confirmed all is ready for its annual Easter Egg Hunt, now in its 70th year. The event will be held at Nichols Park with setup beginning at 9 a.m. and the hunt kicking off at 10 a.m. Prizes, eggs and materials are fully prepared for the long-running community tradition.
Guest speaker Lion James Page gave an overview of the upcoming Changed Tour - Family Fun Day, scheduled for May 2. The event will include:
• Free concert featuring JJ Weeks at 7 p.m.
• Local musical acts starting at 4:45 p.m.
• Games, activities, food trucks and free vendor spaces beginning at 3 p.m.
Lions Robert Fowler and Mylena Poulton volunteered to represent the club at the event with a booth.
Other important announcements included:
• The next Bingo Scholarship Fundraiser will be held May 4.
• No regular meeting on April 24 due to the dedication ceremony for Ron McAffee at The Briefcase at noon.
• Members were reminded to turn in dues and Cowboy Cash to Lion Sherri Crosby.
• Members were also encouraged to begin considering nominations for next year’s board.
The April 10 meeting was attended by the following Lions Club members Donald Smith, Shirley McCowan-Bussey, Amy Nix, Mylena Poulton, Keith Green, Kimberly Story, Alicia Dudley, Lou Ann Smith, Sherri Crosby, James Page, Robert Fowler, Amber Mordecai, Ashley Morris and Nita Robertson.
Jimmie Busby, husband of Lion Shirley McCowan-Bussey was also in attendance as a guest. The meeting adjourned following a motion by Lion Ashley Morris, seconded by Lion Keith Green.
