--- Demons surge past Mannford with seven-run 5th The Beggs Golden Demons opened their two-game streak on Thursday with a powerful 13-4 road victory over the Mannford Pirates, thanks in large part to a game-breaking seven-run fifth inning. After early runs in the first and second innings - including RBIs from Landon Helt and Dallas Wilson -Beggs capitalized on Mannford miscues and patience at the plate in the fifth. The Demons scored seven runs in that frame, highlighted by a passed ball, a pair of hit batters (Kevin Monteque and Helt), and walks drawn by Dallas Wilson and Britton Martin, each forcing in a run.
Britton Martin got the start on the mound for Beggs and pitched four strong innings, allowing just one earned run on four hits while striking out eight. Landon Helt came in for relief to finish the job.
At the plate, Helt and Wilson each drove in two runs, while Martin led the team with a 2-for-2 performance. The Demons drew eight walks and stole four bases to put pressure on Mannford’s defense throughout.
Mannford was led by Quincy Ardrey, who went 3-for-3 and stole two bases. Despite the offensive effort, the Pirates couldn’t keep pace with the Demon offense.
