Members and friends of the Okmulgee County Community Garden will meet Saturday, April 5, for a workday in the garden to continue preparing it for spring.
According to Executive Director Bob Seebeck, the garden’s production plot needs to be planted, pergolas need to be scraped and painted, the children’s garden needs to be prepared for the YMCA’s Summer Youth Program, the pavilion needs washing, soil and mulch need to be hauled around the garden and plants need to be prepared for the April 26 plant sale.
All members are encouraged to bring any tools and equipment they may need.
The workday will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through 1 p.m., but anyone willing to help is welcome to come and go as their schedules allow. The event will help garden members meet their work hour requirements. Lunch will be available.
For questions or more information, contact Seebeck or Board President Dr. Ann Alexander.
