--- Board of County Commissioners Meeting
Attended the Board of County Commissioners regular meeting to discuss ongoing projects and emergency management activities.

Wildfire Response
Responded to a wildfire in the town of Schulter, which originated from a controlled burn, prompting the issuance of a fire warning.
Assisted McIntosh County Emergency Management at Tiger Mountain for a wildfire that led to resident evacuations. Okmulgee County supported with Henryetta, Dewar, Plainview and Wilson Fire Departments.
Responded to 11 other grass fires throughout the county, with all but two caused by controlled burns.
--- FEMA Reimbursement
• Received an update from FEMA regarding the reimbursement for the April 2024 tornadoes. Okmulgee County’s reimbursement has been processed and is now awaiting disbursement from the State of Oklahoma.
--- Vendor Meetings
Attended several virtual meetings with vendors to discuss mapping, situational awareness, and search and rescue applications utilizing drones.
--- Smartboard Acquisition
Spoke with OCCJA Director Shannon Clark regarding the need for a smartboard to enhance training, briefings, disaster management, and situational awareness during emergency operations. OCCJA has provided OCEM with indefinite use of a smartboard that was previously unused in their inventory. OCEM and OCCJA have a long-standing partnership, with OCCJA frequently utilizing OCEM’s training room for academy and meetings.
--- Drone Deployment
Received a new drone on Friday, March 21, which has been placed into service.

Conducted Oklahoma Emergency Vehicle Driver Training at Hitchita Fire Department in McIntosh County on Saturday. --- Floodplain Management
Met with a citizen at a property located in District 1 near 209 & Creagor Rd. to discuss building requirements in the floodplain.
Assisted three citizens inquiring about property in District 3, south of Henryetta, addressing all questions to their satisfaction.
--- Outdoor Warning Siren Project
The project is undergoing final review before being sent to FEMA following a Request for More Information (RFI). The anticipated funding date is projected for May to June, subject to change.
- This week involved significant wildfire response, coordination with other agencies, and progress on critical projects like the outdoor warning siren initiative and drone deployment. Additionally, valuable training and resource-sharing opportunities continue to strengthen our emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
