The Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners met Monday, March 25, at the Okmulgee County Courthouse to conduct regular business and review updates on several county projects. The meeting included action on vehicle bids, personnel changes, utility agreements and ongoing collaborations with the Muscogee Nation.

The session began with the possible approval of minutes from the March 17 meeting, followed by time for public input.
Phillip Ward addressed the commissioners about the parking in front of the courthouse and believes that some employees are parking their vehicles in the spaces marked for one hour parking.
“There’s people that park there all the time. They stay all day, they’re at work, and stay there all day long,” Ward said.
--- Meeting Agenda Highlights
• Officers’ Reports: No reports were presented.
• Blanket Purchase Orders: Commissioners reviewed and took action on the county’s ongoing purchase order needs.
• Employee Forms: Approval was given regarding two personnel updates. Hannah Ramsey’s employment with the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office has ceased, and Lloyd Stidman was hired full-time for District 2.
• Utility Permits & Private Property Agreements: Discussion and possible action were held on submitted permits and agreements, allowing for necessary utility and infrastructure work.
• Bid #1 bid for the purchase of a 2020 or newer day cab truck for District 2 was approved.
• Invitation to Bid for erosion control and embankment repair on Dentonville Road in District 2 was approved. The original bid (#2) was not awarded.
• Invitation to Bid #4 for a 2019 or newer ¾-ton diesel truck for the Sheriff ’s Office was approved.
• Trane Project Completion: A certificate of completion with Trane, a company providing energy and facility improvement solutions, was reviewed and approved.
• A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Muscogee Nation was reviewed and acted upon, continuing collaboration on various infrastructure projects, which includes three bridges.
• A Project Approval Letter regarding bridge construction with the MN was also addressed.
• Utility Relocation Agreement: A relocation agreement for the Bristlecone Road project was tabled for future discussion.
Emergency Management delivered a brief report, and no new business was introduced before the meeting adjourned.
The next meeting of the Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners is expected to be held Monday, March 31, at the Courthouse.
