The Pirates wasted no time, scoring four runs in the first inning. Noah Wilson singled to bring in a run, followed by a two-run single from Hunter McElhannon. Jace Basquez capped the inning with a sacrifice bunt to drive in another run.
Preston added three more in the second, highlighted by Kaden Dean’s RBI double. They tacked on two additional runs in the third on a single from Pepper Gallup.
McElhannon was outstanding on the mound, tossing four no-hit innings while striking out four and issuing no walks.
Kaden Dean led the offense with three RBIs, while Gallup recorded a team-high two hits. Jayden Herring was active on the base paths, stealing two bases. Preston played error-free defense, with Gallup recording the most chances in the field with four. Next up for the Pirates is a matchup against Hulbert on Saturday.
