Hattie Daniels, 89, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Tulsa. She was born on December 1, 1935, in Seminole to Ryder Larney and Haney Micco.
Hattie attended Eufaula Boarding School and Chilocco before marrying Earnest Daniels. Together, they added two children to their family. She worked as an accounting clerk at Amerada in Tulsa for several years before becoming a tutor with Tulsa Public Schools, a job she found very rewarding.
When her husband took up running, Hattie joined him, and together they participated in several races over the years. She also enjoyed long walks, bowling, and attending church. She was a member of Big Cussetah Methodist Church in Okmulgee, but regularly attended Pickett Chapel in Sapulpa, as it was closer to home.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, Ryder Larney and Haney Micco; her husband, Earnest Daniels; her daughter, Phyllis Kaye Daniels; and her sister, June Lee.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Daniels; sisters, Mullenia Larney; Teresa Walker, brothers Randolph Larney; William Larney; grandchildren, Donald Miller, Jr. and Angela Rutledge; niece, Patty Kishketon; and great-niece, Leighn Koshiway.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Big Cussetah United Method Church, with Lay Leader Gloria Lowe officiating.
