Wion, a Henryetta native, expressed his excitement about returning to Wilson Public Schools in a leadership role, emphasizing his commitment to fostering growth and collaboration within the district.
“I am very excited to be a part of the Wilson Public School system and look forward to the district’s growth and development over the years to come,” Wion said. “Furthermore, it is a great honor to serve as your Superintendent, and I also look forward to meeting more of the students and staff at Wilson Public Schools, as well as forging positive relationships! There is nothing we can’t accomplish together! Go Tigers!”

Wion’s extensive background in education spans multiple roles, from teacher and coach to principal and administrator. His journey in education began after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology Education from East Central University in 1989, followed by a Master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2002.
His professional experience includes:
• Science Teacher & Coach - Comanche Public Schools (1990-91)
• Science Teacher & Multi-Sport Coach - Henryetta Public Schools (1991-2002)
• MS/HS Principal, Biology Teacher, Track & Field Coach - Wilson Public Schools (200204)
• High School & Middle School Principal - Henryetta Public Schools (2004-2021)
• Community Education Coordinator - Okmulgee/Okfuskee County Youth Services (2021-25) Wion also holds certifications in Biology, Elementary Principal, Middle School Principal, High School Principal, and Superintendent qualifications.
Beyond his professional achievements, Wion values his family deeply. He and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 34 years and share a strong connection to education. Their two sons, both Henryetta High School graduates, have followed in their father’s footsteps as educators. Their daughtersin- law also contribute to the community, with one working in education and the other in the non-profit sector.
As Wion steps into his role as superintendent, he is eager to build relationships with students, teachers, staff, and families in the Wilson community.
