Henryetta City Council convened for its regular meeting on Tuesday, after the meeting was postponed from last week due to inclement weather.
The meeting began with the approval of the Consent Agenda, which included financial reports, minutes from the January meeting and claims for the month of January 2025.
Council members also authorized a payment of $40,023.88 to the Bank of Oklahoma for the 2015 Note Series monthly payment.
— Property Abatement Decisions
The council discussed abated properties:
• 405 N. 11th Street (owned by Randal and Jennifer Fuller) – given 30 day extension.
• E. Cummings & Frisco Avenue SW Corner (properties owned by Evan Ariel Maczura) – abatement to proceed.
These abatements are part of ongoing efforts to address neglected properties and maintain the city’s appearance.
— Community Events Gain Approval
Several community events were approved, reinforcing Henryetta’s commitment to hosting engaging activities throughout the year:
• First Family Federal Credit Union was granted permission to use Main Street for its annual Labor Day Car Show on August 30, 2025.
• A request from Pastor Jerry & Diana Page to use the city-owned lot behind O’Reilly Auto Parts for a tent revival on May 9-20, 2025, and July 29 – Aug. 12, 2025, was approved.
• The council approved all Henryetta Chamber of Commerce events for 2025, including Cruise Knights on April 26, June 14 and Sept. 27, and allocated $700 for bounce house rentals.
• The Monster Mash Halloween event will take place on Main Street, which will be closed between 3rd and 6th Streets from 4-10 p.m.
• The city will host the Mistletoe Market at the city-owned parking lot at 5th Street during three weekends in December (Dec. 5-7, 12-14, and 19-21), requiring a temporary closure of N. 5th Street.
– City Manager’s Report & Council Comments Following discussions on the agenda items, the council received an update from the City Manager on various municipal projects. The meeting concluded with councilmember comments before adjournment.
– Henryetta Municipal Authority Meeting Immediately following the City Council meeting, the Henryetta Municipal Authority convened to discuss financial matters, including:
• Approval of monthly financial reports and claims for January.
• A $37,962.14 payment to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) for monthly debt service.
• A $24,532.90 payment to Myers Engineering for work on the proposed Water Storage Tank on W. Warren Road, funded through OWRB’s Financial Assistance Program. With no new business presented, the Municipal Authority meeting adjourned.
