Members of the Okmulgee County Community Garden met Saturday, Feb. 8, donned their work gloves and brought their gardening tools to prepare the garden for spring planting. They cleaned out the raised beds, raked leaves and pulled out weeds and dead plants, while Billy Hannon and Dr. Ed Osborn used their tractors to add fresh soil to the raised beds. Early spring vegetables are currently being planted, and other vegetables will be planted as the weather warms up. Garden membership is open to anyone, and the annual membership fee is $10. Anyone wanting an application or more information is encouraged to visit the garden and talk with executive director Bob Seebeck.
