The Wilson Tiger Wrestling Team had two athletes compete at the Maverick Conference Tournament in Stillwell this weekend, with one of them coming away with a championship.
Macy Dobson is Wilson Public School’s first-ever Maverick Conference Champion after going 4-0 in her junior high (7th-9th) 117-lb. division.
Dobson and other Wilson Tiger wrestlers will be back in action next weekend at the Junior All-State Wrestling Tournament in Oklahoma City, with the girls wrestling on Thursday and boys wrestling Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, Morris’ Chance Baker took second place in the junior high boys 92-lb. division. Talee Zackery secured a 4th place finish in the 115-lb. high school girls division. Hayleigh Frazier placed second in the 120-lb. high school girls division.
Dewar Dragons and Lady Dragons placing at the Maverick Conference Tournament were Cash Faulker, 138-lb. runner-up; Clark Hotema, 175-lb. 3rd place; and Emmy Hall, 180-lb. 3rd place.
