Local residents began filing as candidates this week for school, municipal and county offices.
Those who wish to file for the city office must submit a Declaration of Candidacy to the Okmulgee County Election Board 5 p.m. today. Can- didate filing packets are available on the State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections/ candidates/candidate- filing.html and at the County Election Board.
The contest and withdrawal period ends Friday.
