The Henryetta Free-Lance and Okmulgee Times are thrilled to announce a special fundraising event that pet lovers won’t want to miss – the 2025 Pet Calendar Photo Contest! This exciting contest opens for entries on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. and will run until Monday, Nov. 25, closing at 10 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Okmulgee County Humane Society, providing crucial support for local animal rescue efforts.
The contest invites everyone to participate by submitting photos of their beloved pets, whether furry, feathered, or even scaly. For just a $15 entry fee, each pet will earn a guaranteed spot in the 2025 Pet Calendar. Plus, every entry comes with five complimentary votes (a $5 value) and includes a copy of the calendar. For family and friends eager to get their hands on additional copies, pre-orders are available throughout the contest.
With each vote costing $1, pet owners are encouraged to rally support from friends and family near and far to boost their pet’s chances. Every dollar raised from voting will go directly to the Okmulgee County Humane Society, helping homeless and rescued animals find loving homes.
A total of 12 pets will be crowned winners of the contest. The pet with the highest number of votes will be named the Grand Prize Winner, taking home a $100 gift card, a pet-themed gift basket, and the prestigious choice of which month they would like their pet to star in. The remaining 11 winners will also be featured prominently at the top of one month in the calendar and will receive a special pet gift. As a nod to the community’s love of all animals, all other entries will be featured on an honorable mention page.
