Humane Society to be present at Chili Festival

The Okmulgee County Humane Society invites the public to join them at the Okmulgee 2024 Harvest Spoon Chili Festival this Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please make plans to attend this fun family event with such activities as a market place, chili cook-off for the best chili in Okmulgee, live music, a hot pepper eating contest, 5k fun run and pumpkin chunkin. Stop by to say hello to OCHS and some of our dogs available for adoption. You can meet such beautiful dogs as the following:

• Fender: 5-month-old Black Cur Mix male, dark tan, black and white toes. Needs leash training, cuddles and socialization.

• Mandolin: 5-month-old Black Cur Mix female, dark tan, black and white streak on her face. Doing much better on a leash, but needs more training and socialization.

• Clay: 2-year-old Pit Mix male, weighs 57 pounds. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccination. He is good with other dogs and children. He’ll need a tall fence.

• Cadbury: Young male weighing in at only 30 pounds. He has lots of fun, entertaining, puppy energy. He is good with other dogs and paid very little attention to the young children. Currently being treated for kennel cough at the vet.

• Fiona: Adult female Pit Mix with a great big smile, weighing in at just 36 pounds. She is calm, gentle, good with other dogs and good with children. She is spayed and vaccinated, but didn’t receive a microchip. She loves to play in a garden a hose.
