Monday was the last meeting of the summer reading program for the kids. Special guest speaker Amber Mordecai came and talked to the kids about the importance of learning to read and reading. She let them know that just reading 10 minutes a day would help them when they get older. She also told them that when they watch videos to turn the volume down and turn the closed caption would help them with their reading. Amber read to the kids The Wonky Donkey by Craig Smith. She had the kids make bookmarks. She gave them sunglasses and had a drawing for two Taco Bell Gift Cards. The kids had a wonderful adventure listening to Amber. Thank you Amber for coming. Remember kids, you have until Aug. 9 to get your prizes for the summer reading program so get busy reading and bring in your reading records.
