American writer of fiction and legal thrillers Lisa Scottoline celebrates her birth date July 1, 1955, in Philadelphia.
Lisa attended the University of Pennsylvania after high school and earned a B.A. in English in three years magna cum laude, and went on to graduate cum laude from their law school. She clerked for judges at the State and Federal appellate courts and was a litigator before the birth of her daughter, Francesca, when she left the law firm and began writing.
Her first book “Everywhere That Mary Went” was published in 1994. Her 35 novels have won her a variety of awards, are published in over 35 countries, and she has over 30 million copies of her books in print. Her books are known for their warm and down-to-earth characters.
Lisa and her daughter write a weekly column in the Philadelphia Inquirer called “Chick Wit,” which is a woman’s perspective on life full of fun and wit.
Lisa is a generous person, entertaining speaker, die-hard Eagles fan, good cook and vegetarian, and loves pink, gardening and golf. She lives in Pennsylvania with her furry King Charles Spaniels and her cats, Vivi and Mimi. She loves her farmhouse with its chickens that produce colorful eggs and her horses.
