U.S. Labor Dept. to hold training June 10
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will be in Okmulgee to aid workers and employers regarding federal wage laws following the natural disasters there.
An event will be held Monday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oklahoma Works American Job Center, 1601 S. Wood Dr. in Okmulgee.
Many Oklahoman storm-cleanup workers are not being paid what they are owed by employers who don’t know the law and those profiting by not paying them what they are owed.
Federal officials will provide information, answer questions, take complaints and assist with wage and hour issues deriving from natural disasters.
