The Henryetta Board of Education convened for its regular meeting on Monday, addressing several key matters crucial to the smooth functioning and development of the district.
One of the primary discussions of the meeting revolved around the appointment of an individual to fill the vacant board seat #2.
The board voted to reappoint Wes George to continue in the post, following the resignation of Catherine Coble last Friday during a special meeting to have her sworn in to serve on the board.
Another crucial item on the agenda was the reorganization of board officers, a process aimed at ensuring efficient leadership within the board. This step is vital in maintaining clarity in decisionmaking processes and fostering cohesion among board members. This has been tabled to the next Board meeting.
Agenda items approved were:
•Fundraiser request for the 2023-2024 school year.
•Ttransfer of funds in the amount of $14,500.00 from Athletic Account to the following sub accounts: Slow-pitch $2,500.00, Cross Country $3,000, Golf-Boys $1,250, Girls $1,250, Tennis $2,500.00 and Baseball $4,000.00.
•Contract with LocalTech for Technology & Maintenance and Consulting Services for the 20242025 school year.
•Contract with Interquest Detection Canines for the 2024-2025 school year.
• Agreement between Weaver Drug Testing and Henryetta Public School for 24/25 school year. Discussion was had regarding making drug testing mandatory for all school personnel and implementing policy changes to make that possible.
•Renewal Contract with Barlow Education Services for ARP ESSER III Application for the 2024-2025 school year.
• Renewal Contract with Barlow Education Services for Federal Programs for the 2024-2025 school year.
•Standley System and Henryetta Public Schools for updated copiers for each site for the 24-25 school year.
•Renewal and Amendment of Agreement with Clearwater Enterprises for the 2024-2025 school year.

•Contract with Barlow Education Services for Leadership Team Development and Support for the 2024-2025 school year.
•Retirements and Resignations: Deborah Johnson as of March 25, 2024 – Retirement Cheryl Gillin as of May 10, 2024 – Resignation Kelsie Mikles as of May 10, 2024 – Resignation Upon reconvening into open session, the board announced the employment decisions regarding the discussed positions, Elementary Teacher for the 24-25 school year; and a Para Professional for the remainder of 23-24 school year.
Reports were presented by various entities within the school community, including the Henryetta Elementary School Association (H.E.S.A.), Henryetta Education Association (H.E.A.), Athletic Director, Principal, and Maintenance Director, shedding light on their respective areas of operation and any pertinent updates.
