Incumbents seek to retain office

The candidate filing period will end this afternoon, as citizens have submitted their forms for county, federal, state and legislative offices.

In Okmulgee County, the following individuals have filed for these posts: County Commissioner District 2 • R. David Walker – R

• Steven Ward, Sr. – R — County Clerk • Tonya Day – R • Charly Criner – R — County Sheriff • Eddy Rice – R — State House Representative, District 16 • Scott Fetgatter – R

• Rosie Lynch – D — State House Representative, District 24

• Chris Banning – Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Okmulgee County Election Board at 918-756-235 or OkmulgeeCounty@ elections.ok.gov. Filing packets for all offices are also available for download on the State Election Board’s website at oklahoma.gov/elections.

The filing period closes at 5 p.m. Friday. A complete list of candidates will be available next week.
