Henryetta Public Library and the community was excited to welcome a former Henryetta resident and a HHS graduate last Saturday. Loren Porter Smith lived in Henryetta her entire childhood and graduated from HHS in 2013. She then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. While teaching in public schools, she then earned her Master of Special Education in 2022. She currently resides in Texas with her husband, daughter, and three cats. Loren is both the author and illustrator of “Nanny Cat,” her debut children’s book. Her love of art and drawing, along with writing stories for fun from an early age, helped in getting her first work to the public. The 24-page “Nanny Cat” is available on Amazon in paperback.
