As we reflect on this past year, we are so very thankful for all the donations we receive; your generosity has been astounding. We appreciate the assistance from members of our community and beyond who foster and adopt. When you save one, you make room for others to also be saved. We want to thank members of our community who have taken in strays and all your attempts to rehome to keep them out of the city shelter. We are excited over other rescues and agencies who cross our paths for collaborating on the mission to save more animals. OCHS extends extra gratefulness to all the volunteers who spend countless hours to help our days be more manageable, make our events possible, and lend a hand to care for the animals’ well-being.

Each hand makes a difference towards extending and enriching an animal’s life. It’s emotional, rewarding, and fun. We are planning more fun activities for the coming year. OCHS seeks to expand our Doggy Day Out program. We are also going to try virtual adoption events for our dogs in foster care, boarding and shelter. Doggy Day Out and virtual adoption events can go hand-in-hand. There are many ways you can lend a hand, too. We are seeking more people to approve to participate in the Doggy Day Out program, more talented people with camera/ video skills, and we are looking for places to host a pet visit.
Do you have a business, office, agency, or department where you could accommodate a pet visit? A brief pet visit can boost employee morale. The animals feel loved from strokes and ear rubs. Pictures and videos will draw attention to your establishment. All of this helps get the animals out of kennels, out behind closed doors, and seen by the public as being available for fostering or adoption.
The pictures included in this article are just a few that need to be seen in person or live videos.
If you want to apply for the Doggy Day Out program or assist with pics and videos, please submit a Volunteer Application through the OCHS website at www. okmulgeehumane.org/ volunteer.html. Be sure to state on your application your area of interest.
If you have a local establishment willing to host a pet visit please message OCHS on Facebook (www.facebook. com/okmulgee) or send an email to okmulgeehumane@ gmail.com. See a precious fur baby you would like to adopt? We invite you to submit an adoption application at www.okmulgeehumane. org/adopt.html. We thank all of you for following us on Facebook and Petfinder’s on our website. Your likes, shares and comments truly save lives. Okmulgee County Humane Society looks forward to connecting with you online and seeing you at all our events and fun in 2024!
