Numerous Oklahomans were on the list of contestants for the World Series of Rodeo opening in Oklahoma City. Among the contestants were two Henryetta cowboys, Marvin Shoulders, son of Jim Shoulders, sitting in 10th place in bull riding, and Gary Johnson, 11th place in the calf roping event.

100 Years Ago:
Despite snow and rain, the District Reunion of Masons held under the auspices of the Henryetta Lodge was well attended and had great success. Several hundred masons from out of town were among the guests at the local lodge.
Olympia Confectionery served ice cream, ices, sherbet and cold drinks, along with their handmade candies.
