Funds available to replace destroyed PD units
The Henryetta City Council approved several ordinances, in addition to setting aside funds to replace police vehicles.
City Manager David Bullard was given the green light to approve up to $98,921.98 to replace police vehicles damaged by a recent hail storm, and two vehicles that were destroyed in car accidents, according to Police Chief Norman.
This allows funds to be on hand to purchase replacement vehicles immediately when available.
The council also approved several ordinances changing the zoning status of properties for other uses, including development for new businesses. Approved for rezoning (with emergency) were:
• Ordinance No.1289 – Amending Ordinance No. 702, Rezoning from R-1 Single Family Residential District To R-2 General Residential District. Property is on Bollinger Street.
• Ordinance No. 1290 Amending Ordinance No 702, Rezoning from A-1 General Agricultural District To C-2 Highway Commercial and Commercial Recreation District. Property is located at Dewey Bartlett and Hwy. 62.
• Ordinance No. 1291 Amending Ordinance No. 702, Rezoning from I-1 Light Industrial To C-2 Commercial. Hwy. 75 and Frisco/Taylor St.
— Agenda items approved were: • Consent Agenda: Financial Reports, Minutes of Meeting held, and Claims for the month of October.
• Payment to Bank of Oklahoma in the amount of $40,528.66 for 2015 Note Series monthly payment.
• Payment to AEP/PSO in the amount of $31,874.96.
• Payment to Tyler Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $37,201.65 for annual maintenance for the system the City of Henryetta uses for their water billing.
• Appointed Tyler Wieland to the Henryetta Housing Authority Board.
• Request by Henryetta Schools to use Nichols Park on Sept. 7 and Oct. 26, 2024, for Cross-Country events.
• T&S Racing to use Nichols Park on Nov. 8-10, 2024, for a special event.
• Withdrawal of partial lump sum pension payment from the Oklahoma Municipal Retirement Fund for Laurie Smallwood.
• Ordinance No. 1288 An Ordinance Amending the Employee Retirement System, Defined Contribution Plan For the City Manager Of The City Of Henryetta; Providing Retirement Benefits For Eligible Employees Of The City Of Henryetta; Pertaining To Plan Design; Providing For Employer Pickup Of Required Contributions; Providing For Repealer And Severability; and Declared an Emergency, allowing the ordinance to go into effect immediately.
• Resolution No. 1297 A Resolution Concerning Bridge Inspection Responsibility By Local Government For Compliance With National Bridge Inspection Standards (Bridge Inspection Contracts from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026).
There will be a city-wide clean up event Dec. 8-9, allowing residents to dispose of two loads of refuse. Users must have a city water bill. More information will be provided soon about the event.
