A stabbing in the City of Morris Monday afternoon is being investigated by tribal authorities.

According to Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice, the subject involved was identified as Native, and Muscogee Nation Lighthorse was called in to investigate.

Authorities were involved in looking for the suspect for several hours.

The Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office assisted in securing the perimeter as the manhunt continued. The search was called off several hours later as authorities determined that the subject was no longer in the area. There is the possibility the person may have been assisted in eluding authorities and leaving the area.

The matter is under investigation by tribal authorities, with no further information provided.
