The newly-formed Henryetta Parks Board met on Oct. 16, and appointments were made during the session.
Jill Francis was named chair; Laura Goodner as vice-chair; and Patty Van Meter was elected secretary. The Parks Board is an advisory committee to the Henryetta City Council and work to improve the looks and use of city parks.
Other members of the Parks Board are Jeremy Roberts, Nita Robertson, Keith Hair, James McCullough, and Steve Sanford.
During the session, the group addressed needs for the board and looked over the list of parks currently owned by the city.
The board discussed setting quarterly meetings and the time. The members are looking at meetings in November, February, May and August, on the second Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The times and dates will be placed on the November agenda.
