OCC Hosts Overdose Awareness Event

The Okmulgee County Consortium (OCC) held a drive thru event yesterday in Henryetta, alongside representatives of CREOKS, Southern Plains Tribal Health and MCN Medical Assisted Treatment. Information was provided and free medication lock boxes and disposal kits were handed out. Free Naloxone, opioid overdose rescue medication and a brief training on how to administer it were provided. Aug. 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day. Pictured (next to purple ribbon) is an example of how much fentanyl is needed to be deadly to a person.
