The Henryetta Chamber of Commerce was accepting parade entry forms for their Labor Day Parade.
The Henryetta Free-Lance hosted a pay it forward project for current subscribers. The project was to buy a $44 subscription for a neighbor and get another year added to the buyers’ subscription for 25¢.
The Annual Jack Clifford Memorial Labor Day Gospel Singing took place in the Henryetta High School Auditorium. The event featured Chris Hester, The Gaskill Family Bluegrass Band and The Graves Family.

Henryetta firefighters and Local 2788 helped raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association with a Fill the Boot Donation Drive.
Angela McKay, a 14-year-old at the time, added the finishing touches to ceramics she entered into the Okmulgee County Fair.
The Henryetta Art Association presented a Labor Day Art Show, inviting artists in and around Henryetta to participate.

The biggest slice of Henryetta’s $99,443 general revenue sharing money went to upgrading city streets.
The Henryetta Urban Renewal Board agreed with the Planning Commission and approved an L-shaped piece of property as a possible site for the Civic Center.
The Henryetta Police Department and Lion’s Club played a 7-inning slow-pitch softball game to raise money for the Policemen’s Fund.

Fifty couples enjoyed the Elks Lodge dance at the Lodge rooms. Music was furnished by the San-Fen Orchestra.
Barclay Morgan began working on ten new store buildings, seven of which were storefronts on Main Street. Although the buildings were being built at a dull time, he was optimistic they would be ready for the more prosperous season.
The Women’s Missionary Union of the Baptist Church of Okmulgee County held an all-day rally at the Baptist Church in Henryetta with about 30 delegates from all over the county.
