On Monday, July 10, the kids met for the fourth time for the summer reading program. Kathy Crosby talked to them about Being a Good Friend. She told them the steps to being a good friend are: Encourage them, be kind and understanding, include others when see them sitting alone, listen to them when they are talking, stand up for them when you see someone being a bully to them and be honest with them. She encouraged them to read books about being a good friend. She then read “What to do With a Grumpy Kangaroo?” by Jane Belk Moncure. Afterwards, the kids made steps of being a good friend magnets to take home with them. Next week, Kathy is going to talk to the kids about how they can help others in the community. Come and enjoy the fun at the summer reading program.
