The Henryetta Chapter of Disabled American Veterans hosted their last meeting after fighting to keep the organization active.
A freshman named Michael Wells placed 3rd at the tournament of Academic Champions. He placed in Class 2 in Algebra 1. He also placed 3rd overall out of both Class 1 and Class 2 Schools.

Teachers got a pay increase of a minimum of $350. The Henryetta Lions Club held their annual Ladies Night Banquet in the Green Room of the Holiday Inn, honoring the wives of club members. Jerry O’Kelly was guest speaker.
Because there was a gasoline shortage, three of seven gas stations reported they had run out of gas as a result of the Memorial Day traffic and had to close early.

Henryetta was expected to gain another railroad and possibly another hotel to raise the population and expand the town.
You could get a dining room suite for the price of $125 then. Now, the cheapest dining room suite is $280.
The Morgan Theater showed “The Beautiful and Damned” and “Hangin’ ‘Round”. The Cozy Theater showed “Where the Pavement Ends” and “Oh Nurse.”
