Harlan Ford is local drop off location
The Tulsa Area United Way is hosting the 4th annual Day of Caring Food Drive next weekend.
Thousands of pounds of food collected during the event helps countless families in the community experiencing food insecurity.
Approximately 1 in 4 Oklahoma children go to bed hungry at night, according to statistics. Harlan Ford, located on Hwy. 75 at Loop 56, will be a drop-off location this year on April 21. The food drive is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to TAUW, the most needed food items are canned fruits and vegetables, canned protein, peanut butter, rice and pasta.
All food will directly benefit the partner nonprofits that distribute food directly to your friends and neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
Two of those agencies are local – the County Family Resource Center and Okmulgee County Homeless Shelter.
