The Beggs Golden Demons opened the county battle Monday at home with a 7-2 victory over the Eagles, then completed the district sweep with a 14-4 decision Tuesday in Morris.
The sweep puts Beggs at 4-2 on the year, while Morris sits at 0-5 on the season.
Both county teams will return to action Monday with Beggs hosting another county rival, the Okmulgee Bulldogs, while Morris will travel to Prague for a district showdown with the Prague Red Devils.
In Monday’s county battle in Beggs, the host Demons opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. Beggs added two runs in the third and a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings to extend its lead to 6-0 after five innings of action.
The Eagles broke up the shutout bid with two runs in the top of the sixth, while the Demons tacked on an insurance run in the home half of the inning for a 7-2 contest.
The Beggs defense kept Morris off the scoreboard in the top of the seventh to award the host Demons the 7-2 decision.
Dakota Hudson went the distance on the mound for Beggs to earn the pitching win. Hudson allowed two runs on three hits with 14 strikeouts and five walks in seven innings of work.
Koen Burgess was saddled with the pitching loss for Morris, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out two, walking two, and hitting two in three innings of work.
Trey Daniels worked the final three innings in relief for the Eagles, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and two hit batsmen.
Nate Melton led the offensive attack for Beggs on Monday, going 2 for 3 with a single, double, and 2 RBIs.
Ranson Stephens also recorded a multi-hit game for the Demons on Monday, going 2 for 3 with a pair of singles and an RBI.
The other base hits for Beggs on Monday came on singles by Braylon Davis, Caden Collins, and Carson Cooper, a double by Hudson, an RBI single by Lane Kelly, and a 2-run single by Colton McCoy.
The three Morris base hits on Monday came on singles by James Berry and Chance Jordan and an RBI single by Junior Walls.
In Tuesday’s county battle in Morris, the Demons began the scoring with two runs in the top of the first, then added two in the third and three in the fourth for a 7-0 advantage.
The Eagles plated four runs in the home half of the fourth to cut the Beggs lead to three, 7-4, after four innings of action.
Beggs tallied six runs in the top of the fifth for a 13-4 margin, then added its final run of the contest in the top of the seventh, while holding the host Eagles in check in the final three innings to walk away with the 14-4 victory.
Ranson Stephens was awarded the pitching decision for the Demons, working the final three and two-third innings in relief. Stephens took over with one out in the fourth and allowed one run on seven hits, striking out three, walking two, and hitting a batter in his relief appearance.
Nate Melton got the start on the mound for Beggs and gave up three runs on six hits with four strikeouts, two walks, and three hit batsmen in three and one-third innings of work.
Gage Adkins was handed the pitching loss for Morris on Tuesday, allowing seven runs on nine hits with seven strikeouts, five walks, and three hit batters in three and two-third innings of work.
James Berry took over in relief with two outs in the fourth and worked the final three and onethird innings, giving up seven runs on five hits, striking out five, walking two, and hitting five in the relief appearance.
Braylon Davis was tops offensively for Beggs on Tuesday, finishing 3 for 4 with a pair of singles, a double, and 2 RBIs.
Stephens (3 for 6, 3 singles) and Colton McCoy (3 for 5, 3 singles) also recorded 3-hit games for the Demons on Tuesday, while Melton (2 for 3, 2 singles, RBI) and Dakota Hudson (2 for 5, single, triple, 3 RBIs) were next for Beggs with two hits apiece.
The final base hit for the Demons on Tuesday came on an RBI single by Caden Collins. Collins also had an RBI walk and an RBI groundout in the contest.
Carson Cooper drove in a run with an RBI hit by pitch, while Lane Kelly produced a run for Beggs on Tuesday with an RBI walk.
Lance Clark was the top hitter for the Eagles on Tuesday, going 3 for 5 at the plate with three singles and an RBI.
Other Morris batters with multihit games on Tuesday were Berry (2 for 5, 2 singles), Trey Daniels (2 for 4, 2 singles), Chance Jordan (2 for 3, single, double, RBI), and Wyatt Clark (2 for 4, 2 singles) with two hits each.
The other two Morris base hits on Tuesday came on a single by Dakota Smith and an RBI single by Junior Walls.
