The season-ending loss came by a 39-34 margin to the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets in an elimination game at the Class B, Area IV, District 3 tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs finish the 2022-2023 campaign with an 11-12 record, which included capturing the consolation championship trophy at the Chieftain Classic at Graham-Dustin High School and a runner-up finish in the Small School portion of the 2023 Muscogee Nation Invitational Tournament.
In last Thursday’s ‘must win’ game against Cameron, the Schulter ladies trailed by a slim 11-9 margin after the first eight minutes of action, then took an 18-16 lead into the halftime break after outscoring their district tournament foes 9-5 in the second quarter.
The Lady Bulldog lead expanded to four points, 26-22, following an 8-6 margin in the third period.
The Schulter cage squad was unable to hold off the Lady Yellowjackets in the final stanza, as Cameron took the final frame by a 15-8 advantage to hand the Lady Bulldogs the season-ending, 39-34, loss.
Alyssa Evans led a balanced offensive attack for Schulter in the playoff contest with a team-best eight points. Macee Henderson was next in the scoring column for the Lady Bulldogs in the season-ending setback with seven points, followed by Addiemae Kanada with six, Caidence Campbell five, Jenna Henderson three, Payton Campbell and Angel Vinyard two each, and Alexis Hurt one.
