The Beggs Golden Demon basketball team found themselves on the losing end of a 74-38 decision to the Kellyville Ponies this past Monday at the Beggs Event Center.
The Demons were back in action Tuesday at home against county rival Henryetta and will also battle two other county foes this weekend, hosting Okmulgee on Friday and traveling to Preston on Saturday.
In Monday’s home battle with Kellyville, the visitors came out of the opening frame with a 23-9 advantage.
The Demons were edged 16-15 in the second quarter to go into halftime trailing by 15 points, 3924.
The Beggs squad was unable to get any closer in the second half, as Kellyville took the final two periods of regulation by margins of 15-7 and 20-7, respectively, to put the host Demons on the short end of a 74-38 decision.
Beggs was led offensively by Ezrah Anderson with eight points. Red Martel was next for the Demons on Monday with seven, followed by Logan Hicks with six, Jaxon Remington and Brayden King five each, Gage Tennyson three, and Ashwynn Goudeau and Kenneth Clay two apiece.
