Henryetta falls at Kellyville, splits road meeting with Vian

The HHS cage squad traveled a combined 232.2 miles (round trip) last weekend with trips to Kellyville Friday and Vian Saturday.
The Knights and Lady Knights found themselves on the losing end of a pair of outcomes Friday in Kellyville, while earning a split decision in Saturday’s meeting with Vian.
The Henryetta squads were scheduled to return home Tuesday for a battle with their Okmulgee County rivals, the Preston Pirates and Lady Pirates. The Knights and Lady Knights are scheduled to be in action Friday with a trip to Morris for a showdown with their arch rivals, the Morris Eagles and Lady Eagles.
Below are summaries from last weekend’s backto- back road games for the Henryetta varsity basketball program. --- Friday, January 27 Girls Game
Kellyville 43, Henryetta 25
The host Lady Ponies took the opening period by an 11-8 margin. Both teams tallied seven points in the second stanza to send the contest to the halftime break with Henryetta still trailing by three, 18-15.
The Lady Knights were held to just two points in the third quarter, while Kellyville put up 19 points in the frame to extend its lead to 37-17 with eight minutes remaining in regulation.
The Henryetta ladies managed just a 2-point advantage, 8-6, in the final stanza to suffer the 43-25 setback.
Graci Lollis was tops offensively for the Lady Knights, finishing with eight points. Other HHS scorers at Kellyville were Kassidy Lee with five, McKayla Greenhaw and Brooklyn Baughman four each, and Serenity Rex and Sutv Harjo two apiece.

Kellyville 78, Henryetta 68; OT
The Knights came out of the high-scoring opening period with a 19-16 advantage and led 35-32 at halftime after both teams put up 19 points in the second frame.
Henryetta increased its lead to seven, 54-47, heading into the final quarter of regulation after outscoring the host Ponies 19-15 in the third period. Kellyville knotted the score at 64-64 with a 17-10 advantage in the final eight minutes of regulation.
In the overtime period, the Knights were outscored 14-4 to wind up on the losing end of a 78-68, overtime, outcome.
Henryetta’s top scorer at Kellyville was Skylar Greenhaw with a team-best 19 points. Jordan Short (14), Nick Hudson (12), and Will Perez (12) also finished in double figures for the Knights, followed by Austin Palmer with nine. Hunter Gobin accounted for the final two HHS points in the overtime loss. --- Saturday, January 28 Girls Game
Vian 49, Henryetta 39
The Lady Knights edged the host Lady Wolverines 14-13 in the opening frame, then were outscored 14-9 in the second stanza to trail by four (27-23) at halftime.
The Henryetta ladies went back in front, 32-31, at the end of three quarters of action following a 9-4 advantage in the third period.
The Lady Knights saw their slim lead evaporate in the final eight minutes of regulation, as the HHS squad was outscored 18-7 to wind up on the losing end of a 49-39 decision.
McKayla Greenhaw led the way offensively for the Lady Knights at Vian, finishing with a team-best 26 points. Other HHS scorers in the road game were Brooklyn Baughman with six, Sutv Harjo three, and Allana Lawrence and Kassidy Lee two each.

Henryetta 55, Vian 48
The Knights led 13-10 after the first eight minutes of action, then went into the intermission down by a 26-22 margin after being outscored 16-9 in the second period.
The Henryetta squad regained the lead, 41-37, with a 19-11 advantage in the third quarter, then finished the 7-point win by outscoring the host Wolverines 14-11 in the final frame.
The top scorer for the Knights in the road win was Skylar Greenhaw, who finished with a team-high 19 points. Nick Hudson also reached double figures for Henryetta on Saturday with 16 points. The remaining scorers for the Knights at Vian were Jordan Short with eight, Austin Palmer six, Will Perez four, and Hunter Gobin two.
