Folks
Folks, some happenings can become an issue. I looked up the word issue. It is an important topic or problem for debate or discussion. Well, Honey Child, I think what I am going to tell you is an issue. It is debatable, for sure, it is the issue to drive or not to drive.
Folks, some happenings can become an issue. I looked up the word issue. It is an important topic or problem for debate or discussion. Well, Honey Child, I think what I am going to tell you is an issue. It is debatable, for sure, it is the issue to drive or not to drive.
Now, I must tell you about a dumb stunt I pulled recently. I fired up that little P.T. Cruiser, reached down to put it in drive, got sidetracked with the seat belt. Yup, put it in reverse! Can you believe it? Put my foot on the gas pedal and backed right into the bumper of my grandson’s car! Opened the door and ask son, did I hit his car? “No mom, you hardly touched it!”
So all the way back to my apartment here at the retirement village, I bad mouthed myself. Parked that sucker and decided I would never drive it again. Furthermore, I would throw away the keys.
Later, Son assured me anybody could have done such a thing and to just get over it. Only a few days before, my daughter was here for a visit. I insisted on doing the driving as we went here and there. I wanted her to critique my driving. She assured me I was doing a good job of driving. “Not an issue mom.”
Now, I drive very little, mostly, around here in the village, about once a week. I want the little P.T. to remember it is a car and needs to still function. Then, I made the mistake and told this out in the commons area. A visitor heard me and warned everybody to be cautious and alert. She drives around here in the village. So beware!
I had a dear friend that has now gone on to her mansion in the sky. She loved her old Buick and drove all the time. I rode with her once upon a time. Now, in case you don’t know the road out here to the retirement village is oh so narrow, real narrow, I say, too narrow, for sure. Hear me, it is real narrow!
She was determined to miss a chuck hole on this narrow road. Remember, she loved her old Buick. She kept easing over toward the center to miss that chuck hole, but oh, Lord there was a car coming and she kept moving over. I was close to having a heart attack when she finally missed the chuck hole and got back in her lane.
Now, that might have been an issue, but not for her. She kept on driving and never ever damaged her old Buick. And she drove until only a short while before she moved to her heavenly home.
Oh, my I have several more issues to tell you about, however, I have gone on too long. So this will be continued. I repeat, to drive or not to drive is a big issue for us dear old souls.
Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when to stop lying about your age and start bragging about it. Some people try to turn back their “odometers.” Not me. I want people to know why I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and a lot of the roads were not paved.
