The Lady Bulldogs fell to the host Weleetka Lady Outlaws in the opening contest by a 44-26 margin, while the Bulldogs found themselves on the short end of an 85-33 outcome in the nightcap.
The Schulter cage squads will return to action Friday evening with a home meeting with the Mason Eagles and Lady Eagles. Friday’s home battle with Mason is scheduled to get started with girls action at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys contest at approximately 8 p.m.
Schulter is scheduled to close out its regular-season schedule next week, traveling to Midway Monday and hosting Hanna Tuesday.
In Monday’s girls game at Weleetka, neither team was able to find its offense in the first eight minutes of action with the host Lady Outlaws emerging from the opening frame with a narrow 4-3 advantage.
Weleetka sent the game to the halftime break in front 21-11 following a 17-8 margin in the second quarter.
The Schulter ladies were outscored 12-4 in the third period to enter the final stanza with an 18-point deficit, 33-15.
Both teams tallied 11 points in the final quarter to put the visiting Lady Bulldogs on the losing end of a 44-26 decision.
The top offensive performer for the Schulter ladies at Weleetka was Caidence Campbell with seven points. Other Lady Bulldog scorers in the road contest were Addiemae Kanada with six, Alexis Hurt four, Macee Henderson three, and Payton Campbell, Alyssa Evans, and Angel Vinyard two each.
In Monday’s boys game at Weleetka, the Bulldogs trailed 23-9 after one and 36-20 at halftime. Weleetka took the final frames by margins of 24-9 and 25-4, respectively, to hand the Schulter gentlemen the 85-33 setback.
The duo of Bobby Calhoun and Vincent Bess led the offensive production for the Bulldogs, finishing with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Jordan Freeman was next in the scoring column for Schulter with five points, followed by Kameron Vinyard with four and Jordan Horne three.
