Prior to the general meeting which is open to the public, the business meeting will be held at 6 p.m. and is open to all registered county Republicans.
This month's general meeting will feature guest speakers, Chris Banning, newly-elected District 24 State Representative and Steven Baldridge and Steven Diamond, candidates for the Okmulgee City Council Ward 2 seat.
According to Marsheila Prior with the County Republican Party, Rep. Banning covers much of Okmulgee County north of Hwy. 16, not including Beggs City Limits.
“The City Council election is for the Ward 2 seat,” Prior said. “However, every voter within Okmulgee City limits can vote, so this is a great chance to get acquainted with candidates Baldridge and Diamond.
“Also, this will be the first time we've hosted Rep. Banning, who also has a strong family connection to Okmulgee County that will be interesting to hear.”
