Investigation continues
The person of interest in the murder of four Okmulgee men in October is now back in the Okmulgee County Jail.
Joseph Lloyd Kennedy, 67, was booked into the jail on Nov. 12, following his transfer from Florida.
Following a hearing on Wednesday in district court, the bond for Kennedy was increased from $500,000 to $10 million.
Kennedy was arrested Oct. 8 in Daytona Shores Beach in a vehicle reported stolen to the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office. Prosecutors declined to file charges in that case and Kennedy was moved back to the state.
Kennedy faces charges for violating his probation on a 2012 assault and battery charge.
No charges have been filed as of yet in the quadruple homicide, which claimed the lives of Billy Chastain, Mark Chastain, Alex Stevens and Mikel Sparks.
The investigation continues into the deaths. The next hearing date for Kennedy is set for Thursday, Dec. 1 at 1:30 p.m.
