Mustang head football coach Lee Blankenship received an award last Friday night at the 2021 Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Football Game in Shawnee. Blankenship was presented with his 75-win plaque during the event. Most of Blankenship’s 76 coaching wins came between 2013 and 2017 while guiding the Beggs Golden Demon football program. During Blankenship’s 5-year tenure at Beggs, Blankenship was 45-16 and guided the Demons to a state runner-up title in 2017. Blankenship began his head coaching career at Gore, coaching the Pirates for two years (2011-2012) before coming to Beggs. Beggs coached at Bartlesville in 2018 before taking over the Mustang program in 2019. Blankenship will begin his third season at Mustang September 3 at home against Yukon. COURTESY PHOTO
