What is camping season? It’s time away during the spring and summer months. It’s fishing. It’s the lake. It’s tents and RV’s. Swimming is likely involved. More than all this? It’s FIRE! It’s fireside conversation. S’mores and hot dogs are prevalent. Ghost stories and late nights. A bonfire is one of my favorite things. There is something so relaxing sitting by a fire and watching the flames. While camping doesn’t bring to mind white tablecloths and fancy dishes, it doesn’t have to mean boring hot dogs and tepid beans out of a can. Taking along a few handy tools can allow you all kinds of options, almost like you were in the kitchen cooking. It does take some adjustments to get used to cooking over an open fire though.
