Dewar head softball coach Donnie Corbin said they’re just starting to get their full team back after a bout of COVID-19 hit.
Two of their starting players including their first base and a major batter, tested positive for the virus, so they had been sitting out for quarantine.
But now they’re back, Corbin said he’s hoping to polish things up and get ready for districts.
“We took a huge step forward playing Indianola,” Corbin said. “We look like the team we actually could be now.”
He said he wants to take the last four games, all home games, to get everybody on the same page since they have all the starters now.
“We have four dates to get everybody firing on all cylinders,” he said.
The Lady Dragons are 7-8 for the season.
They played Mason Thursday night, and will play Butner Friday night, Weleetka September 21 and Wetumka September 22.
For districts, they will be at Olive next Thursday through Saturday playing Olive, who is 17-6, and Canadian, who Dewar already beat and is 2-21.
