Okmulgee County Treasurer’s next Property Sale will be held Monday, Sept. 21 at the courthouse.
Treasurer Vonna Lampkins announced the date at Monday’s meeting of the Okmulgee County Commissioners.
Lampkins and her staff have been working to put together the property list.
A printed packet of properties can be purchased from the treasurer’s office for $10. The packet includes all the properties and their addresses and can be purchased up to the sale date.
The sale will be held outside the courthouse at 9 a.m., but will be on the east side of the building near Okmulgee Street.
There are several properties on the list in which opening bids begin at $1. For more information about the sale, call the county treasurer’s office at 918-756-3848.
Other agenda items approved by commissioners included:
• Employment Acknowledgement Forms for District 1 - Matthew Watts and Jerry Cain ceasing employment;
• Utility Permits - Hwy. 75 and Hectorville Road in District 1 and South 270 in District 2;
• Private Property Agreements - Josh Lamb requesting to store materials from the Rocky Hill Bridge Project;
• Compensation for Temporary Emergency Management Director - Dave Kennedy has been working to assist and fillin for Okmulgee County Emergency Director Tim Craighton while he recovers. There was some discussion over whether to classify Kennedy as a temporary employee or a contract employee. After looking at the different options, Kennedy was classified as a temporary employee and will be compensated as such;
• Transfer of Funds for the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office with $92.88 being transferred to the proper designation.
Dave Kennedy gave a brief report to the commissioners. Okmulgee County Health Department is now offering COVID testing every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No appointment is needed to receive the COVID-19 test.
Kennedy also reported Okmulgee County Emergency Management, in cooperation with other agencies in the state, has handed out personal protective equipment (PPE) to schools in the area.
All the schools in the Okmulgee County area have received their deliveries of PPE and cleaning supplies.
