Eighty-one schools will converge on the running trail at historic Nichols Park in Henryetta this Saturday to compete at one of three 2018 regional cross country meets.
The other two regional cross country meet sites in 2018 will be Velma-Alma High School and Oklahoma Bible Academy in Enid.
There will be a total of 69 schools represented at both Velma-Alma and OBA to bring the 3-site total of schools competing at the 2018 regional cross country meets to 219.
Of those 219 teams, 21 will earn spots in next Saturday's state cross country championships at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee, as well as 21 individuals from non-qualifying teams.
At each regional meet, the top seven teams and top seven individuals not on a qualifying team will get the chance to compete for a state championship.
Each regional meet will get underway with Class 2A girls action at 10 a.m., followed by Class 2A boys races at 10:45 a.m.
The 3A races will start at 12 and 12:45 p.m., respectively, followed by the Class 4A races at 2 and 2:45 p.m., respectively.
There will be a coaches meeting at each site one hour before the start of each regional meet.
