Five of the six Okmulgee County football teams will take to the road in Week 6.
The only county team that will play at home this week will be the Wilson Tigers, who will welcome the Bowlegs Bison to town for a District C-4 matchup.
The Okmulgee Bulldogs, Beggs Golden Demons, Morris Eagles, Henryetta Golden Knights, and Dewar Dragons will travel a combined 338.1 miles to their respective Week 6 destinations.
The Bulldogs will conclude their 2-game road trip tonight (Friday) with a 94.5-mile trip to Roland and a District 3A-3 meeting with the Roland Rangers. Both teams enter the Week 6 contest with identical 1-4 season records, as well as being two of three winless teams in the 3A-3 standings at 0-2, which means the winner of tonight's battle in Roland will record their first district win of 2018.
The Demons will travel 79.5 miles to Dewey and a District 2A-3 showdown with the Dewey Bulldoggers. Beggs sits at 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in the 2A-3 standings. Dewey enters tonight's contest with a 1-4 season record and 0-2 in the district standings.
The Eagles will have the shortest trip of the five road teams in Week 6, traveling 31.7 miles to Kiefer for a 2A-3 battle with the Kiefer Trojans. Both teams are winless in district play at 0-2, while Morris (2-3) has one more season win than Kiefer (1-4). Just like in Roland, either the Eagles or Trojans will notch their first district win of 2018 in tonight's matchup in Kiefer.
The Knights will continue their search for their first District 2A-2 win of 2018 tonight, traveling 48.9 miles to Holdenville for a district battle with the Holdenville Wolverines, who also enter tonight's contest with an 0-2 district record, meaning the winner will earn their first district win of the season.
The Dragons kicked off Week 6 for Okmulgee County, traveling to Bunch, OK, on Thursday evening - an 83.5-mile trip - to square off against the winless Cave Springs Hornets. The matchup with Cave Springs was the District B-6 opener for both squads.
The Wilson Tigers will look to snap their 5-game losing streak tonight in a C-4 meeting with Bowlegs. Wilson enters tonight's home game with a 1-5 season record and an 0-2 district record. Bowlegs sports a 1-4 season record and is currently 0-1 in district play in 2018.
Here is how the county teams fared in Week 5:
• Okmulgee fell to 0-2 in district play with a 55-26 loss to Checotah.
• Beggs routed Caney Valley 76-0 to improve to 2-0 in district action.
• Morris dropped a 63-16 decision to Victory Christian to fall to 0-2 in district play.
• Henryetta remained winless in district action with a 61-6 loss to Prague.
• Dewar suffered its first loss of 2018 with a 50-38 defeat to Davenport in its non-district finale.
• Wilson dropped to 0-2 in district play with a 52-6 loss to Paoli.
Below are the offensive and defensive keys to the game for the six Okmulgee County teams that are competing in Week 6.

Henryetta at Holdenville
Henryetta Offensive Keys
The Knights will need to have more production offensively this week if they are to notch their first district win of 2018. The Henryetta offense will need to find a way to run the ball with success this week and not have to rely on passing the football 25 times, like they have done four times so far this season. Another main focus for the Knights offensively this week will be to avoid turnovers, penalties, and negative yardage that take away scoring chances. The Henryetta offense will also need to find a way to get an early lead against the Wolverines and hang onto the advantage and not be forced to play catch-up like the Knights have had to do in their four losses this season.
Henryetta Defensive Keys
The main goal for the Knights defensively this week will be to find a way to stop the Wolverines at the line of scrimmage. In the first five games this season, the Henryetta defense has allowed 387.2 yards per game and 41.6 points per game, including an average of 460.3 yards and 51.7 points per game in the last three contests. The Knights will need to find a way to get into the backfield and tackle Holdenville running back Chase Gibbs (5-9, 185, Sr.) to little or no yardage every time the ball is placed into his hands. The Henryetta defense will also need to keep receivers J.W. Tiger (6-4, 210, Sr.) and Sawyer Huff (6-3, 208, Sr.) in front of the secondary, not allowing the speedy wideouts the chance to make catches deep downfield. The Knights will need to stay aligned defensively and not allow the Wolverines to have success running out of the Single Wing offensive formation. The Henryetta defense will need to force turnovers and several three-and-out situations this week if they are to snap their 3-game losing streak.

Dewar at Cave Springs (Thursday)
Dewar Offensive Keys
The Dragons will need to get back to running the ball effectively down the field this week. In last week's loss to Davenport, the Dewar run game was limited to a season-low 133 yards. The Dewar offense will also need to mix in a few pass plays this week and not be forced to throw the ball 28 times like last week. The Dragons will need production from sophomore quarterback Joey Fowler this week in both facets of the offensive game-plan, while also getting quality production out of the backfield with running backs Kameron Wadley, Tristan Melden, and Shawn Maxwell. The Dewar offense will need to put points on the scoreboard in bunches this week, as Cave Springs is allowing an average of 40 points per game in the first five games this season. In order to put up lots of points against the Cave Springs defense, the Dragons will need to avoid turnovers and penalties that take away scoring chances.
Dewar Defensive Keys
Defensively, the Dragons will need to be aggressive at the line of scrimmage and not allow the Hornets to break off long runs. The Dewar defense allowed 50 points for the second time this season last week against Davenport and will need to find a way to keep the Hornets out of the end zone. In five games this year, Cave Springs has put up a total of 66 points - an average of 13.2 points per game. The Dewar defense will need to find a way to get into the backfield and disrupt the rhythm of quarterback Gavin Hinton (5-9, 190, Sr.). The Dragons will need to stay alert as to where Hinton is at all times, as the Hornet signal caller has had success throwing and running the football effectively during his high school career. The Dewar defense will also need to find a way to contain running backs Chase Calin (5-7, 150, Sr.) and Kobe Grimmett (5-8, 170, Jr.), not allowing these two talented ballcarriers the chance to break off long runs.

Wilson vs Bowlegs
Wilson Offensive Keys
The Tigers will need to avoid falling behind by double digits early in the contest and take advantage of scoring opportunities this week, as they look to earn their first-ever district victory. Since putting up 48 points in a season-opening win over Eagle Point, the Wilson offense has averaged 10 points in its last five games with the most points scored during that span being 28 against Sasakwa. The Tigers will need to have production running the football from sophomore Michael McKinney this week, while also continuing to have success throwing the ball with quarterback Cobey Sellers. The Tigers will also need to avoid costly penalties, turnovers, and negative plays on offense if they are to avoid a sixth-straight loss in 2018.
Wilson Defensive Keys
The Wilson defense will need to find a way to do something that four of Bowlegs' five opponents have been able to do this season and keep the Bison offense out of the end zone. The only points scored by the Bison in their four losses was eight points in the season opener against Olive. The Tigers cannot allow Bowlegs to reach the end zone as much as it did in its Week 3 win over Eagle Point Academy when the Bison put 48 points on the scoreboard. The Wilson defense will need to get into the backfield and apply pressure to quarterback Kaden Jasna (5-6, 150, So.) and not allow the Bowlegs signal caller time to throw the ball downfield to an open receiver. The Wilson defense will also need to find way to create turnovers that keeps Bowlegs from putting up points.

Okmulgee at Roland
Okmulgee Offensive Keys
The Bulldogs will need to find a way to get an early lead against the Rangers if they are to have any chance of earning their first district win of 2018. The Okmulgee offense will need to find way to get the running game going in the first two quarters and not rely heavily on throwing the football, as has been the case for most of the season. Another huge factor in the Bulldogs' chances of being victorious tonight will be to avoid having drives stall due to penalties and turnovers. If the Okmulgee offense can find a way to move the ball effectively with the run game and avoid turnovers and penalties ending promising drives, the Bulldogs could very well end the 2-game road trip with an all-important district win.
Okmulgee Defensive Keys
The Okmulgee defense will need to find a way to contain Roland senior quarterback Eli Dalton (5-11, 190), who is the main offensive weapon for the Rangers on offense. The Bulldogs will need to apply lots of pressure and force the Roland signal caller to make errant passes that lead to turnovers or incompletions. The Okmulgee defense will also need to slow down the Rangers' run game, which is led by Javonte Youngblood (5-9, 170, Sr.) and Logan Wolfe (6-2, 235, Sr.). In last week's loss to Stigler, Youngblood carried the football four times for 82 yards, while Wolfe ran the ball 11 times for 40 yards and one of the two Roland touchdowns. If the Bulldogs can find a way to contain the Roland run game at the line of scrimmage and force Dalton to throw the ball more than he is accustomed to doing, it could lead to an all-important district win for the Okmulgee squad.

Beggs at Dewey
Beggs Offensive Keys
The Demons will need to continue having success moving the ball downfield and moving the chains this week, as they seek their third-straight district victory. The offensive line will need to continue providing running lanes for the running backs, as well as provide senior QB Dalton Spring time in the pocket to find one of his many aerial targets downfield in the passing game. The Beggs offense will also need to continue to take care of the football this week, while also avoiding penalties that could possibly take away scoring opportunities.
Beggs Defensive Keys
The Beggs defense will need to continue to be aggressive at the line of scrimmage, continuously finding ways to get into the backfield, disrupting the offensive rhythm of senior QB Chase Revard (6-0, 175), forcing errant passes that lead to turnover chances or incomplete passes. The Demons will also need to contain the Bulldoggers' run game, stopping the Dewey ballcarriers at the line of scrimmage and limiting their gains to little or no yardage every time the Bulldoggers run the football. The Beggs defense will need to create three-and-out situations and turnovers in order to get the high-powered Demon offense back on the field as much as possible.
---
Morris at Kiefer
Morris Offensive Keys
The main focus for the Morris offense this week will be to avoid costly turnovers that take away scoring chances. Last week, the Eagles turned the ball over six times against Victory Christian. The Morris offense will need to return to having success running the football if the Eagles are to earn an all-important district win this week. The Eagles will also need to find a way to effectively move the ball downfield and not have drives stall out on three-and-out situations. The Morris offense will also need to avoid costly penalties that prevent points being put on the scoreboard this week.
Morris Defensive Keys
The Morris defense will need to find a way to contain the Kiefer offense at the line of scrimmage and not allow the Trojan offensive weapons - quarterback Tanner Folsom (6-1, 170, Jr.), running back Luke Adams (6-0, 175, Jr.), and wide receivers Hayden Cooper (6-1, 160, So.) and Moises Martinez (5-10, 160, Sr.) - to break off big plays. If these dangerous athletes are not contained at the line of scrimmage, it could result in a long night defensively for the Eagles. The Morris defense will also need to create several three-and-out situations and turnovers that get the Kiefer offense off the field as quickly as possible.
