Henryetta High School and Middle School’s cross country teams competed in the Oklahoma Baptist University High School and Junior High Cross Country Invitational. Facing teams from across the state, the team that shined the most was the Henryetta Middle School runners whose combined times earned them 14th in the boys junior high 3,200 meter run. The Knights’ runners clocked in with an overall time of 1:13.56.05 hours with an average of 14:47.21 minutes. Individual runners also faired well against an astounding 230 other runners. With a time of 13:34.28, Jack Caywood took 41st place in the boys junior high 3,200 meter run. Caywood has stuck towards the top in previous meets, earning 8th place at Seminole in the boys junior mile run with a time of 6:25.40. Teammate Ethan Goodner was right behind Cayman taking 59th with a time of 14:01.40. The Knights also had runners that took 66th (Justice Warlow, 14:23.15), 82nd (Wyatt Coy, 14:50.81), 153 (Zackary Mullen, 17:06.41) and 224 (Tanner Napier, 21:41.91).
Henryetta High School’s cross country team had a hard time pulling up from the middle of the pack, resulting in placements in the 80s to the 100s. The highest ranked runner for Henryetta High School’s cross country team was Alyssa Collett who took 72nd place with a time of 15:33.62 in the girls 3,200 meter run. The girls cross country team had a few runners place in the 90s during the meet, including Jenna Berryhill and teammate Bayleigh Nye. Berryhill came in before Nye with a time of 16:03.22, taking 93rd place. Nye followed five places behind Berryhill to claim 98th place with a time of 16:12.72.
The boys cross country team faced tough opponents out of the other 187 runners with most of the individual speedsters clocking in around 20 minutes. Sticking close to his previous time at the Henryetta Invitational, Keaton Lollis had the best time amongst the boys team in the 5K run crossing the finish line at 20:18.62 earning him 85th place.
