EUFAULA - The Henryetta Lady Knight fast-pitch softball team swept through the competition at the Eufaula Softball Tournament last weekend.
The Lady Knights (13-5) completed their tournament sweep last Saturday with a 17-3 drubbing of the Okemah Lady Panthers in the championship game of the 3-day tournament. The win over Okemah was the fifth-straight win for the Henryetta diamond squad last week, beginning last Tuesday with a 6-5 victory over Sperry.
The Henryetta ladies began their journey to the tournament sweep last Thursday with a 13-0 victory over the Canadian Lady Cougars, behind a no-hitter by freshman pitcher Avery Miller.
The win over Canadian put the Lady Knights into the winner's bracket semifinals against the Crowder Lady Demons. The Henryetta squad advanced to the winner's bracket finals by defeating Crowder 8-0 and a 1-hit shutout pitching performance by Miller.
The Lady Knights squared off against the Wetumka Lady Chieftains in the winner's bracket finals, edging past their Hughes County foes 4-3 to put themselves one win away from the tournament championship.
The Henryetta ladies were back in action on Tuesday with a trip to Oktaha and a showdown with the Oktaha Lady Tigers.
The Lady Knights will travel to Sterling Thursday to begin action at the Southwest Shootout Tournament.

First Round
Henryetta 13, Canadian 0
The Lady Knights opened the scoring with eight runs in the bottom of the first, then added five runs in the home half of the second for a commanding 13-0 advantage. The Henryetta defense retired the side in order in the top of the third to walk away with the run-rule victory.
Miller struck out seven in her three innings of no-hit performance. The only baserunner for Canadian came in the top of the first on a leadoff fielding error.
Jalynn Joslin was the top hitter for Henryetta in the first-round win, going 2 for 3 with a single, double, and 3 RBIs.
Bailee Worlow also had a 2-hit performance for HHS, going 2 for 2 with a pair of singles and an RBI.
The other base hits for the Lady Knights against Canadian came on singles by Kasedi Gobin and Brittani Hembree, RBI doubles by Katelyn Dwiggins and Lexi Lollis, and a 2-run single by Kaylie Hamric.
Other HHS baserunners in the opening round were Dwiggins (walk), Gobin (walk), Hembree (walk), Joslin (error), and Hulleah Wincle (2 errors).

Semifinals
Henryetta 8, Crowder 0
The Lady Knights did all of their scoring in the first two innings, tallying six runs in the bottom of the first, then adding a pair of runs in their half of the second for an 8-0 advantage. The Henryetta defense held the Lady Demons in check the entire contest with the only base hit coming on a leadoff single in the top of the fifth.
Miller once again proved dominant in the circle for Henryetta, allowing just the one base hit in five innings of work. The only other baserunner for Crowder was a hit batter with one out in the top of the third.
The trio of Jalynn Joslin (2 for 3, single, double), Kasedi Gobin (2 for 3, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs), and Kaylie Hamric (2 for 2, single, double, 2 RBIs) led the offensive attack for Henryetta with two hits each.
The other base hits for the Lady Knights in the semifinal contest were a single by Madison Byroads, a double by Miller, RBI singles by Bailee Worlow and Lexi Lollis, and a 2-run double by Katelyn Dwiggins.
Dwiggins was the only other baserunner for Henryetta with a 1-out walk in the second.

Winner's Bracket Finals
Henryetta 4, Wetumka 3
The Lady Knights broke a scoreless tie with a run in the bottom of the second. Wetumka took over the lead at 2-1 with two runs in the top of the fourth, while Henryetta knotted the score at 2-2 with a run in the last of the fourth. The Lady Knights regained the lead at 4-2 with a pair of runs in the home half of the fifth. Wetumka was limited to just one run in the top of the sixth to award the Henryetta squad the hard-fought 4-3 victory and put the Lady Knights in the championship game.
Miller earned her third pitching win of the tournament, working all six innings in the circle for Henryetta, allowing three runs (1 earned) on three hits with nine strikeouts.
The Lady Knights were limited to three base hits in the semifinal win. The three hits for Henryetta came on a single by Jalynn Joslin, a triple by Katelyn Dwiggins, and an RBI single by Hulleah Wincle.
The other baserunners for HHS against Wetumka were Dwiggins (2 walks), Joslin (error), Bailee Worlow (walk), and Lexi Lollis (error).

Henryetta 17, Okemah 3
The Lady Knights did all of their scoring in the first and fourth innings. The Henryetta squad opened their offensive barrage with nine runs in the top of the first, then added eight runs in the top of the fourth for a 17-0 advantage. Okemah avoided the shutout with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, but it was the Henryetta ladies that walked away with the 17-3 victory and the tournament championship.
Miller gave up three runs - all unearned - on two hits with four strikeouts in four innings of work to earn her fourth pitching win of the tournament.
Offensively, the Lady Knights totaled 11 hits in the 4-inning contest, led by Jalynn Joslin, who went 3 for 4 with a pair of singles, a home run, and 5 RBIs. Joslin's roundtripper came on a Grand Slam home run to conclude the 9-run first.
Miller (2 for 4, 2 doubles, 3 RBIs) and Kasedi Gobin (2 for 3, 2 singles, 2 RBIs) also recorded multi-hit games for Henryetta with two hits apiece.
The other base hits for the Lady Knights came on a single by Hulleah Wincle, RBI singles by Bailee Worlow and Lexi Lollis, and an RBI double by Kaylie Hamric.
