Okmulgee Police responded to the 500 block of North Porter on Aug. 14 after reports came in of a person being shot in that area. Officers arrived on scene and were advised that the victim had been shot in the 700 block of North Muskogee. According to what the victim told police officers, he had opened the door for a person he knows when three males forced their way inside his home. The victim said all three were armed with handguns, wearing coverings over their faces and demanded money. During the invasion, one of the armed perpetrators had shot the victim in the back. The victim was transported to a Tulsa hospital where he was treated and released with a non-life threatening injury. Based on the investigation thus far, Okmulgee Police obtained an arrest warrant for armed robbery on a 19-year-old Dreontray ‘Tray’ Todd.
The police are currently seeking any information on his whereabouts or information connected to the shooting. Anyone with information can contact the Okmulgee Police at 918-756-3511.
The Okmulgee Times contacted the police department and by press time there was no new information reported.
“Not so far,” Chief of Police Joe Prentice said. “To my knowledge we have not received any new information.”
