Special guest at the Aug. 7 Henryetta Lions Club meeting was Oklahoma District 16 Representative Scott Fetgatter. Rep. Fetgatter spoke about the upcoming election and various capitol news as well as the teacher strike. After recognizing the dedication of our teachers, he said, “This was the largest teacher budget that has passed and is historical. I fought for teachers the entire time. And I have been 100% on all Education bills that have been presented.” Everyone knows at the Capitol that Rep. Fetgatter is not afraid to speak his mind. “I plan to keep moving the state forward. I have had seven bills in my first year that were signed into law including the Aerospace bill,” he said. Rep. Fetgatter is a member of the Wildlife Committee and announced he was appointed to the Medical Marijuana Committee three weeks ago. He said that Congress is currently “busier than they’ve ever been” and reported that he is part of a live stream every Wednesday at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome to come and watch. The stream can be found at: oksenate.gov . Rep. Fetgatter accepted questions from several Lions Club members.
