Classes for two Okmulgee County schools have already begun.
Wilson Public School students returned to school on Aug. 8 and Schulter Public Schools started on Aug. 9.
The majority of county schools will begin classes on Aug. 16 this year. Those include Okmulgee, Stonebridge Academy, Preston, Henryetta, Beggs, Morris, Dewar and Twin Hills.
Before classes begin, there will be a Meet the Teacher Night.
Students and parents will be able to meet their teachers on the following nights:
• Preston Schools – Aug. 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Okmulgee – Aug. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Beggs – Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Morris – Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Henryetta – Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Twin Hills – Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Dewar – Aug. 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Stonebridge Academy – Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
These nights are the perfect time for students to find their classes, meet their teachers, get a feel for the new school building or revisit the comfort of an old one. It is also a time to pick up school supply lists if you have not already done so.
